Stqarrija maħruġa mill-Uffiċċju tal-MEP Miriam Dalli

L-MEP Laburista Miriam Dalli titlob lil Viċi President Frans Timmermans u lill-Kummissarju Ewropew Vera Jourová biex jikkunsidraw l-aħħar żviluppi politiċi fl-analiżi tagħhom ta’ Malta.

L-MEP Maltija Miriam Dalli għaddiet kopja tal-konklużjonijiet tal-inkjesta tal-Maġistrat Aaron Bugeja dwar l-allegazzjonijiet ta’ Egrant lill-Viċi President tal-Kummissjoni Ewropeja Frans Timmermans u l-Kummissarju Ewropew Věra Jourová.

“Kont f’diversi laqgħat fejn saru attakki kontra Malta u fejn kien hemm MEPs li ppruvaw għal aktar minn darba jagħmlu pressjoni fuq il-Viċi President Timmermans u l-Kummissarju Jourová biex jieħdu pożizzjoni kontra Malta. Fuq bażi tal-esperjenza tiegħi ta’ dawn il-laqghat, ħassejt li għandi nikkomunika magħhom t-tnejn il-konkluzjonijiet tal-inkjesta maġisterjali fuq l-allegazzjoni tal-Egrant u ninsisti dwar il-ħtieġa li tinżamm l-imparzjalita fi kwalunkwe analiżi li ssir fuq pajjiżna,” sostniet Dr Dalli.

L-ittra liż-żewġ Kummissarji Ewropej issegwi ittri separati li Dr Dalli bagħtet lill-President tal-Parlament Ewropew Antonio Tajani u lill-Ewroparlamentari li huma membri tal-kumitat LIBE.

Fl-ittra tagħha lill-Kummissarji Ewropej, Miriam Dalli qalet li Malta kienet ripetutament taħt attakk minn politiċi li bdew jippreżentaw allegazzjonijiet bħala fatti u li ppreferew jaslu għal konklużjonijiet ibbażati fuq stqarrijiet foloz.

“Qed nagħmel din it-talba għaliex l-allegazzjonijiet kontra l-Prim Ministru Malti ġew ripetuti kemm-il darba fl-istituzzjonijiet Ewropej, b’mod partikolari fil-Parlament Ewropew, bil-ħsieb biss li jdgħajjfu lil pajjiżi, Malta,” żiedet tgħid l-MEP Dalli.

L-MEP Miriam Dalli tkellmet dwar il-frame-up orkestrat kontra l-Prim Ministru Joseph Muscat u l-familja tiegħu u kif dokumenti foloz ġew ippreżentati bħala evidenza biex jippruvaw jikkonfermaw allegazzjonijiet li kienu kompletament iffabbrikati.

Copy of Egrant inquiry conclusions handed over to First Vice-President of the European Commission Frans Timmermans

Labour MEP Miriam Dalli asks First Vice-President Frans Timmermans and European Commissioner Věra Jourová to consider the latest political developments in their analysis of Malta.

Maltese MEP Miriam Dalli passed on a copy of the conclusions of Magistrate Aaron Bugeja’s inquiry into the Egrant allegations to First Vice-President Frans Timmermans and European Commissioner Věra Jourová.

“I was present in meetings where Malta was attacked and MEPs tried to pressure Vice-President Timmermans and Commissioner Jourová to take a stand against Malta. On the basis of my experience in these meetings, I felt that I should communicate to the two the conclusions of the magisterial inquiry into the Egrant allegations and to insist on the need to remain impartial in any analysis of our country,” the Labour MEP said.

The letter to the two European Commissioners follows separate letters, which Dr Dalli sent to European Parliament President Antonio Tajani and MEPs who are members of the LIBE committee.

In her letter to the two European Commissioners, Miriam Dalli said Malta was repeatedly attacked by politicians who presented allegations as facts and who preferred to reach conclusions based on false statements.

“I made this request because the allegations against the Maltese Prime Minister were repeated several times in the European institutions, in particular in the European Parliament, with the aim of weakening my country, Malta,” MEP Dalli added.

MEP Dalli spoke of the frame-up orchestrated against Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and his family and how fake documents were presented as evidence to prove allegations, which had been fabricated.

The inquiring magistrate interviewed almost 500 witnesses, roped in international experts and took 15 months to conclude his thorough investigation.

Whilst insisting that it was a pity that there are Maltese politicians ready to put forward allegations based on lies for their personal gain, Miriam Dalli asked the Commissioners to ensure impartiality in any analysis of Malta.
