Messaġġ mill-kandidata eletta għall-elezzjonijiet tal-Parlament Ewropew 2019, Dr Miriam Dalli.

Grazzi lill-votanti kollha li wrew fiducja fijja. Ir-rizultat ta’ 63,438 votant li fdawni fl-elezzjonijiet tal-Parlament Ewropew huwa sodisfacenti imma jimlini b’responsabilita biex inkompli nahdem favur Malta u Ghawdex. Fuq kollox grazzi lill-poplu Malti u Għawdxi ta’ dan ir-riżultat elettorali wera li ahna bhala poplu verament ghandna lil Malta f’qalbna.

Impenjata li minn dan ir-riżultat igawdi l-poplu Malti u Għawdxi kollu.

L-impenn tieghi huwa li nkompli naħdem biex nirrappreżenta lill-elettorat kollu kemm hu. Jeħtieġ li naħdmu flimkien bħala poplu wieħed, jeħtieġ naħdmu b’leħen wieħed, sod u magħqud. Irridu nwarrbu d-differenzi ta’ bejnietna u niffokaw fuq dak li jgħaqqadna. Mghaqudin flimkien nistghu naslu ghal rizultati pozittivi li jkunu ta’ gid ghac-cittadini u l-gzejjer taghna.

Fil-gimghat, xhur u snin li gejjin, se nkompli nibni fuq ix-xoghol li ghamilna u rrid naħdem bis-shih biex nindirizzaw sfidi godda. Fost dawn ugwaljanza effettiva; hidma biex pajjiżna jkun minn ta’ quddiem fl-innovazzjoni; focus fuq l-ambjent u hidma biex kulħadd ikollu l-opportunità u l-ħeġġa jeduka ruħu, jekk hux fuq livell akkademiku jew inkella permezz ta’ snajja. Fuq kollox, se naħdem biex pajjiżna jieħu dak li jixraqlu; mhux min iżebilħu imma min juri li pajjizna mimli b’nies bieżla li meta jaħdmu flimkien b’viżjoni, jaslu.

M’huwiex id-daqs tagħna li jiddistingwina. Hija l-atitudni tagħna, ir-rieda tagħna, it-twemmin tagħna fina nfusna bħala poplu.

Il-gratitudni tiegħi lejn dan il-vot ta’ fiduċja mill-elettorat se nibda nsarrafha f’xogħol mill-iktar fis, b’sens ta’ lealtà lejn dak li dejjem sħaqt dwaru. Inħares ’l quddiem lejn aktar ħidma u se nagħmel l-almu kollu tiegħi biex flimkien inwasslu lil Malta fil-Livell Li Jmiss.”

Message issued by the elected candidate for the European Parliament Elections 2019, Dr Miriam Dalli.

“A heartfelt thanks to all the voters who trusted me. I am grateful for the 63,438 first-count votes  and feel responsible to keep working for the interests of Malta and Gozo. Also, I sincerely thank all Maltese and Gozitans for this electoral result which shows that all the people truly have Malta in their hearts.

I am committed to ensure that all Malta and Gozo benefit from this result.

I am committed to work to represent all the electorate. We need to work together as one nation, one united and strong voice. We need to put aside our differences and focus on what unites us. United together we can achieve positive results for the benefit of all citizens and our islands.

In the weeks, months and years to come, I will be keep building on the work done so far and I am committed to work to address new challenges. Amongst these I am committed to work in favour of an effective and holistic equality, ensure that Malta is at the forefront of innovation, once again focus on environment, and ensure that everyone has educational opportunities – whether academic or related to technical or manual skills.  Above all, I am committed to work to ensure that our country gets what it deserves – not someone who tarnishes its reputation but someone who shows that our people are hardworking and, when working together with a vision, they achieve what they aspire.

It is not our size that matters but our attitude, our will and the trust in ourselves as one nation.

My gratitude towards this show of trust from the electorate, will be reflected in my work, as a sense of loyalty to what I’ve always stood for. I look forward to working harder and I am committed to do my best to ensure that together we take Malta to the next level.
